President-elect Obama according to news reports will soon announce his nomination of Senator Hillary Clinton as the next US Secretary of State. Obama’s choice of Clinton for this position is not viewed by Wordtodawise as a very wise choice.
Under no circumstance should Hillary Clinton be the next Secretary of State. She is frankly not the right candidate to fill this very important position at this critical moment of our time. Other candidates such as Senator Chuck Hagel and Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico to name a few come to mind as being better qualified to fill this position.
Hillary Clinton simply lacks the experience and the temperament to handle the important position of Secretary of State. The common believe is that she is going to rely significantly on Bill Clinton and former Secretary Albright to help her navigate the complex world of international politics. Not only is this development disappointing, it is dangerous and will further dampen the enthusiasm of Americans and people around the world who have invested so much hope in the coming Obama administration.
After losing the Democratic nomination, the curtain was closed for Clinton or so Wordtodawise thought. The political demise of Clinton appeared imminent then but today it seems the thought was premature. Now that Obama has lifted Hillary from political coma, Wordtodawise is apprehensive and hopes the curtain doesn’t close on America. It would be a preferred option for Hillary to stay in the senate and continue to do great things for the people of New York.
Wordtodawise firmly believes that Hillary Clinton is not going to serve the best interest of America by being Secretary of State. It is quite clear that Hillary’s foreign policy will be significantly affected by pro Israeli and military industrial complex lobbying groups whose influence will render Hillary ineffective in making the tough decisions. Obama may prescribe the mission but there’s no guarantee that Hillary plus Bill will tow the line.
Middle Eastern politics covering the sphere of Iraq, Iran, Israel and Palestine are the most critical aspects of foreign policy challenges the new administration will face. The successful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will define the overall foreign policy achievement of the Obama administration. Any outcomes short of expectations in this area will be viewed as inconsequential and not acceptable by an anxious public.
Solving the Israeli -Palestinian issue will lay the ground work for negotiating with Iran into becoming a willing partner for restoring and maintaining stability in the Middle East and to a larger extent Afghanistan and the Taliban. A compliant Iran will not present a threat to the existence of Israel and the fearful Arab states like the Saudis and others.
Accomplishing the mission of diplomacy in the Middle East requires a statesman (gender inclusive) with extraordinary political and diplomatic skills armed with a singular incorruptible will to engage friends and foes for the common purpose of negotiating a lasting peace.
Judging from Hillary's presidential campaign management incompetence and her previous health care debacle, she is not the person for the SOS job. She simply will not deliver the desired results. It will be great if she proves otherwise.
It's understandable for Obama to reward Hillary for her campaign efforts given the fact that she flaunted 18 million votes as a ransom. The future of America is much too important for this kind of risky political gamble. The decision to nominate Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State is regrettable and will not go down as Obama’s most brilliant move.
Obama should reverse his nomination of Hillary as Secretary of State for the sake of political prudence and national interest. Wordtodawise believes Hillary Clinton will make a great Supreme Court Justice instead and Obama should extend the offer when the time comes. President-elect Obama, please stop and think before you act on this matter or forever regret the decision to make Hillary Clinton Secretary of State.

Obama assassination plot, a sad reality of hate politics
It's not such a shock to learn about the plot to kill Barack Obama by two neo-Nazis. Ashley Todd faked attack and blamed it on a fictitious black man. These crazy bums have drawn their inspiration from the current caustic political atmosphere created by the Republicans.
The McCain and Palin attack ads are working. The vitriolic ads are designed to incite hate and spur ferocious acts against Barack Obama by the screw heads of the party.
The use of Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright as prime material for attack ads are sufficient reasons to label McCain and Palin as racist enablers. They can't wiggle their way out of this charge, try as they may
McCain, Palin and the right wing talking heads, the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, O’Riley and all the lesser clones should bear supreme responsibility if any harm should come to Obama as a result of their blatant use of racism and bigotry to advance political goals. These people are playing with fire and this is not the way it should be.
Fox news by all accounts has been the prime perpetuator of the vile propaganda against Obama. The Fox network while pretending to be a serious news organization operates as a dangerous conduit for modern day racism, religious bigotry and homophobia.
Fox news is the principal mouth piece of the McCain Campaign. This organization has relentlessly attacked Obama by shamelessly associating him with controversial personalities in an attempt to discredit Obama. Let's examine the breakdown of this dirty politics.
The use of Bill Ayers as a terrorist is designed to play upon the sentiments of fear and to challenge Obama's patriotism.
The portrayal of Jeremiah Wright as an anti American is a classic case of race baiting intended to ignite racial conflicts between blacks and whites.
The hint of Obama being remotely associated with Louise Farrakhan is sure to spark the anger of Jews same as being a Muslim and having a middle name Hussein.
The claim that Obama is a close friend of Planned Parenthood is intended to patronize fundamental Christians and Catholics.
The false attack on Acorn is a grand design to energize white voters while providing an excuse for the obvious Republican defeat. There's a brazen attempt to intimidate and disenfranchise black voters as has been the practice until Obama came along.
Linking Obama to Tony Rezko is a desperate attempt by Fox to tag Obama as a corrupt politician.
Dusting the curb web off Frank the Poet (Frank M. Davies) is a pitiful effort to call Obama a communist.
Fox News has used this acrimonious method of hate politics to help McCain win the election. The good news is that there are more good Americans than evil Americans and in the end, good is thumping evil. Long live Obama the next President of the United States.

Powell endorsement of Obama, race based?
General Powell demonstrated great wisdom and statesmanship by openly endorsing Obama over McCain as the man best qualified to lead the United States into the future.
Powell was very clear in contrasting the two candidates before deciding on Obama. He concluded without a doubt that Obama is intellectually superior to McCain. He was impressed by how Obama has structured and is running a smooth, effective and highly efficient campaign compared to the pathetically disjointed and ineffective McCain campaign.
Another important consideration for Powell's decision was McCain's poor choice of Sarah Palin for VP. Palin sadly has turned out to be more of a comic relief than a serious VP material. This development is a clear indictment of John McCain's judgment. The man is always wrong.
The likelihood of death due to old age or resurgent cancer for McCain is very real. The thought that this woman Palin plucked from the wilderness of Alaska and equipped only with moose politics and sparse national insight can step in and be president is very disturbing. Say it isn’t so McCain.
One of the most significant reason for Powell’s defection is the fact that the McCain campaign has degenerated into a scum machine defying all codes of decency. McCain’s campaign has been taken over by the evil agents of the extreme right and McCain is too desperate to exercise any moderation. McCain is trapped in a web he can’t escape from. What a terrible price to pay for aligning with demagogues just to win an election.
Supporting Obama, a simple act of honesty and patriotism by Powell has sparked negative reaction laced with racism and bigotry. This reaction underscores the fact that the element of racism is as thick as a London fog in this presidential campaign as much as it is pervasive in mainstream America and her institutions.
This election is going to serve as a barometer to gauge the degree to which American civilization has advanced since the dark days of Jim Crow. The big question is who will rule the day, bigots or decent progressive patriotic American citizens? Time will tell.
George Will should be ashamed of himself for citing race as Powell's motive for supporting Obama. George owes Powell an apology for the undeserved insult. Has George Will accused Joe Liebermann of supporting McCain because McCain is white? What does George Will have to say about the Reagan democrats?
It seems only convenient that race is an issue because Obama, Powell and the black voting block all have one thing in common, their blackness. What a despicable hypocrisy. Isn’t it time to embrace positive change? It will be good medicine for America.
Pat Buchanan echoes the same negative racial sentiments he has been known for over the years. How can Pat question the integrity of Powell more so the qualification of Obama? Pat failed in his bid to be president. He lacked the skill and savvy to run a successful presidential campaign. Pat should bow down and salute Obama rather than raise doubts about Obama’s experience.
Rush Limbaugh is in character and his racist comment was hardly a surprise. Rush is an ill conceived, ill bred and an irredeemable bigot. Sure Rush is rich but he is still a filthy pig.
Wordtodawise is certain that Obama will be elected president of the United States. The stakes are too high to risk another four years of George Bush impersonated by McCain or Palin.
